The Skin IQ by Arjo is a clinically advanced powered mattress cover designed to promote healing from tissue damage and prevent injury for those at risk of pressure sores. The Skin IQ actively regulates moisture and controls temperatures at the skin surface interface which is critical for individuals who do not move independently through the night. When there is excess moisture and increased temperature under the skin a microclimate can develop causing maceration and skin breakdown. When active sores are already present a microclimate can cause greater injury.
Engineered with cutting edge Negative Airflow Technology the Skin IQ draws excess moisture away from the skin and controls temperatures preventing the formation of a microclimate beneath the user. When paired with a good pressure reducing mattress the Skin IQ helps to maintain a dry and stable environment promoting healing from active sores and fostering healthy tissue.
The Skin IQ reduces odors and is easily laundered. The cover is waterproof, vapor permeable with a microbial barrier and is also anti shear with reduced friction. Its useful lifetime is 1 year or 35 laundry cycles.
